Secret Garden: Echoes of Tomorrow - Short Story

As Tracy lay asleep under the soft glow of her desk lamp, her mind drifted off. Off to where minds escape to find peace and to find solutions.  She saw a vivid, surreal landscape, a world where technology and nature had fused into something far beyond her wildest imagination. The air was thick with energy, a quiet hum that seemed to pulse through every living thing.

Another Charm in a Swarm: ShortStory #StorytellersBloghop

Sneha peeped outside the window fitted with rusted rods running horizontally across its width. She saw a little girl holding her mother's hand, heading very fast towards the other end. "She seems new to this place," thought Sneha.

"Sneha, it's your turn now. Take this bag, and don't return it until it's full. Be careful with the station master." shouted a shrill voice. Once again, it's a new search, a search for little things from a hullabaloo of things lying hither and thither.

Sneha, a little one of 9 years old, was left on the railway platform 2 years ago. Her caretaker always forced her to extend her limits. She has targets to meet, and the food she got depended on her search. Luck is not easy, though; extreme searches were her fate. She heard the cries of the baby beside a railway station drinking water tap. Nobody knew who left her there and where she came from. But Sneha recognized her as she saw her running behind her mother an hour ago. She thought, "Another little one abandoned by her family. I hope her luck takes her in good hands."

Short Story: Imperishable Love Story: Sheen & Erum

Hello!

I am Sheen. I believe the world is full of surprises, emotions, expectations, and love. An innocent bond of love expects nothing, just a little place in a humble heart.

It was a bright day. The golden glaze pierced through the sky's cottony curtains to explore life. It was a relief after a blizzard that trapped Erum and me inside an old cottage for 4 long days. I clearly remember the day I met him. It's been 8 years of togetherness or, more aptly, 6 years.

Winters in Kashmir are highly unpredictable, where every hook and corner is covered with a white drape. I enjoy the beautiful terrains of the valley where nature has carved some marvelous creations on earth. But for me, Erum was god's best creation ever.

I came to Kashmir along with my mother and cousins. The place soaked me entirely in its mesmerizing charm. Our abode was a houseboat. There were rows of precisely similar-looking attractive houseboats running along the banks of Dal Lake, appearing as though narrating thousands of stories to the calm waters.

A walk down the valley was my favorite pastime every day. That day, my mom was hesitant to send me out as the unpredictable weather could take enormous form. But I assured her I would return home early.

True Relationship - Micro Fiction

true relationship story of sisters- meenalsonal

“You did it, I shall inform mother”, Tanu in assertive tone

“Do you think they will trust you”, Ruhi reverted ironically.

“You outsider, why you act as owner of the house. My wish, I will do what I like”, Ruhi picked up the pouch again.

“You may not consider me as elder sister but I do consider you as my younger one”, spoke Tanu holding her tears.

“Poor adopted girl!”, Ruhi said these three words again.

“She is my daughter and owns each right", mother patted Tanu while snatching the drug pouch from Ruhi.

That day, Tanu’s life changed forever.

Can Dreams be inkling of Future: Short Story

‘No, no, this cannot happen’, shouted Mili and then dropped her rare pillow on the ground and the fall of a water bottle from the side table made her awake.

“Mili, get ready fast and come for breakfast”, said her mother in a tone that was enough to charge Mili to start her day with a sprang.

Mili started to gather her books, assignments, project material and stuffed it in her bag that seemed to be gathering many substances from decades though it was only a few months old.

Mili took one final look in the mirror for setting her frizzy hair that starts uprooting after a single stroke of comb or a smooth breeze.

"Why can’t they settle soon, this hair stuff makes me go crazy, I wonder how girls manage to wear good hairstyles, it would take another few years for me to master it", mumbled Mili to herself.

When he was about to pause all thoughts and go back to slumber, his mother handed him a cordless phone saying Rohan has called thrice till now and he has mentioned its urgency.

With much difficulty and remembering his friendship vows he took the phone and whispered Hello…

Monsoon Ghost - #ShortStory

Lavanya, once again turned to see her house to gather the warmth so that she doesn’t miss it much. Her brother Atul who was watching her over-sensitive sister diverted her mind, “you can always see the house in the video chat; don’t be sentimental let's get into the car before you get late”.

Lavanya sighed, picked her backpack while her father arranged her luggage in the car and her mother shuffled keys to lock the multiple locks of the door while trying to control tears.

Lavanya was already missing every one even before stepping into the land of Monsoons for her post graduation, yes this is what she called Pune, which was best described to her by her cousins and seniors.

Mamma Perfectionist in a trouble

Shanaya was pleased to see her mother when she arrived to stay back with her for a week.  After hugging her Shanaya tears dropped, this was unusual as Shanaya and her parents lived in same city and would meet often.  Shanaya’s mother Madhulika sensed something was not right with her daughter. Madhulika was a lady with a strong aura and was leading professor of soft skills before her retirement.

Shanaya’s son Yuvin made Madhulika visits her daughter more often these days, but this visit was not for Yuvin it was for Shanaya, as she could make out that Shanaya is worried over something and was not sharing. Madhulika was waiting for the right time to talk to her daughter.  Shanaya very carefully prepared meals for her 15-month-old toddler and instructed her helper for each task with minute details. Her mother knew how perfectionist is Shanaya but some thing was taking toll on her.

When Yuvin was taking afternoon nap Shanaya sat with her mother to chat and simultaneously switched on laptop to book tickets and hotels for their upcoming vacation with her son for the first time after Yuvin was born.

Madhulika asked Shanaya, “What happened Sanu”, she called Sanaya Sanu with love.
Shanaya took few seconds and said “Nothing Ma”, and peeped into laptop with more confusion.
