Book Review : Wheels of Time by GS Nidhi
Today I am reviewing e-book titled “Wheels of Time, 12 months
& 12 Tales of Life” authored by GS Nidhi. This is the third book we picked
in eBook Carnival review program.
Book Cover & Title:
Wheels of Time, 12 months & 12 tales of life. The tag
line ‘When the unexpected leads to expected’ made me pick this book and I am
happy that my pick was rightful.
Book Cover has an image of man gazing at stars, as though the
man is questioning God and listening to his answers.

Book Review : Unlikely Tails by Mani Padma
Book Cover:
The
book cover is just needs a second attention to understand what's the picture is
about. It perfectly blends with the title revealing very little about the
contents of the book. It is just perfect to keep the curiosity going among
readers. I am sure one would pick this book from bookshelf for it’s diverse
cover.

Heartprint from Soul
"People Who Don’t Know They’re Dead: How
They Attach Themselves to Unsuspecting Bystanders and What to do About it, This
one seems an interesting pick", Samaya murmured while taking her seat in
the library next to the girl in black hoodie and started a conversation.
“Hey you seem to be a book lover I always see you here?” Samaya queried in enthusiastic tone.
To which she replied, “I want to read all of them; my passion for books is very old and not going to dither anytime soon”, and she chuckled with a smile.

"What is the hurry, enjoy each read
peacefully. Are you going somewhere?” questioned Samaya.
"Hah! Even I thought so “ she answered and took a seat in the corner.

Samaya whispered to herself “she seems to be
quite serious in reading” and started flipping the pages of her new book.
The next day Samaya was shocked to see the portrait
of ‘girl in black hoodie’ on Remembrance Day.
"Her passion is still alive", Samaya said while she lit the candle, "you truly left a heartprint".

A Winner !!!
Her empty eyes kept staring me;as if telling
me that though she has lost game of life but have won many hearts .” How will I
live without her now? Her smiling face was my strength, my satisfaction”, thought
Geeta bidding goodbye to her daughter Sneha.
The claps resonated across the complete
auditorium which jostled up Geeta from her deep thoughts. She was present there
to receive the award for social service on behalf of her daughter. The event
was organized to felicitate the members of the “Smile” organisation who worked
day and night for the welfare of young girls to educate them and make them self
dependent.
“It is difficult to absorb the fact that
today Sneha didi is not with us, but she was an inspiration for many little
girls like me. I am certain that she is here somewhere among us immortal. May I
call upon the stage Mrs Geeta to receive the small token of love from all of
us”, addressed a little girl smiling.
Now Geeta came to know why Sneha always
said that,”Maa! You will never miss me”.
Sneha is present among us alive in
these smiling faces.

Book Review- Panther
The book 'Panther'by Chimmi tenduf-La is his second book which portrays how life of a boy,Prabhu,is affected due to the war and what kind of problems he faces in his journey of life.
Book Cover:
The front cover of the book gives an idea about what could be the base of the story. The map of Sri Lanka gives a clear picture about the location of the story or some special connection with the country. Cricket is been obvious by the cover and lures to start off.
Chimmi Tenduf-La is half English; half Tibetan
grew up in Hong Kong, London, and Delhi and finally settled in Colombo, Sri
Lanka with his family. He has written plays and fiction for local publications. His debut novel is 'Amazing Racist'.
Plot:
The story kick starts introducing the hero of the story,
Prabhu Ramanathan, a Tamil young lad , an all-rounder who is extremely good at
sports especially cricket. The story revolves around him who is one of the
sufferers of the war between the locals of Sri Lanka called Sinhalese and the
Tamils.
His father fell victim of the terror group which changes the
life of his family. He was left alone and was forced to take shelter in a very clumsy
camp where the minimum facilities seemed far off.
Being very good at cricket he somehow gets admission into a fancy school which brings in some hope to improve. It was a totally different world and experience for him but failed to prove fruitful as at every walk of life he had to face many unpleasant situations for being a Tamilian.

Likes:
- Prabhu and his cricket counterpart Indika sets a good example of friendship. One Tamil and the other Sinhalese Sri Lankan show everyone that there is no place of hatred.
- Also liked the different code names used in the story for the members of the war groups.
Dislikes:
- The story keeps dodging into past and sets in present in every alternative chapters which creates confusion.
Final Word:
The book is surely a one-time read to know what the title of the
book “Panther” represents here. The characters are portrayed beautifully and the
shortcoming of a rivalry is pictured well. It deciphers a message through the
story that war leads to nothing.
Thank you Chimmi Tenduf-La for giving the opportunity for reviewing the book.It was pleasure reading it. Looking forward for many more.

He looked around the aloof tunnel, shut his temporary good side thinking it is
utter nonsense and missed connection with inner self.
He then searched bag he
robbed at the railway station.
Bag contained few pictures,
documents and timeworn laptop.
He was shocked to see his
father’s visiting card in the bag; he was disgusted to feel that he missed
connection again.

Weird Memories
Keshav, your
breathlessness shows that again you had a nightmare; worried Sanjay inquired
him.
After wiping his sweat by
his shoulder, Keshav stared at the window and said in somber way, “life is full of circles.”
Sanjay could sense that
his obedient request to meditate has
been turned off by Keshav and again he was falling prey to his memories.
Keshav answered in hesitated tone “raspy sounds from these woods don’t let
me stay in peace, let’s go away from here my brother”.
Sanjay answered “Keshav,
look around we are living beside beach since two months; just let go past flames”.

Pimple Crush Saga
After
college, let’s go to my place for quick snacks and then to Dhruva’s birthday
bash, Mili kind of ordered Sneha than asking. These two were best of friends
and could resolve any thing in world, be it Sneha’s admission in same section
or Mili’s two-wheeler license, together they felt, they could conquer the world.
After
reaching home, Mili went to freshen up and Sneha sat with a phone in one hand
and apple in another, which she picked while entering into room after greeting
Mili’s mother and grandmother in lobby.
“Yes yes
yes, yippee”, Sneha started dancing keeping her phone beside.
“What
happened? Are drama team selection results out”, inquired Mili wiping her face.
“No”,
Sneha said with a smile and a spark in eyes that made Mili to think.
“Then why
are you dancing, I thought you were eagerly waiting for results”, Mili
questioned and threw the towel on chair and started looking in to the mirror.
“I
cleared level 280”, smiled Sneha while feeling proud.
“And I am
still at 8”, dull Mili responded.
“How it
could be? We both were at same level”, Sneha doubted with a surprise.
“I am not
talking of Candy crush Saga, it’s the score of Pimple Crush Saga on my face”,
dejected Mili replied, still looking at pimples closely, now in a concave
mirror for a closer look.
“When did
you enter Pimple Crush Saga levels”, Sneha teased Mili, for she named pimples
outburst on their favorite game ‘Candy Crush Saga’.
“You are
laughing and making fun, see this one is just a day old and these are whose
levels crossed”, Mili pointing and giving level numbers to pimples, made Sneha laugh
out loud.
“I am
serious Sneha!” “What will I do if I am
selected to play lead in ‘Beauty and Beast’ play?”
“How will
I end up on final day?” Mili posed series of questions to Sneha.
“You are
a good actor, beauty is not mattered while acting,” Sneha tried calming Mili’s
worry.
“But the role
demands a flawless skin, and how could I end this increase of levels each day,
every morning to my surprise, level keeps on changing”, Mili still analyzing
pimples in mirror.
“No
worries, you forgot that we can win over any situation”, Sneha reminded Mili,
of many impossible tasks they completed together.
Sneha
quickly asked query in so-called ‘Love for Beauty’ whatsapp group about pimple
problem.
Mili’s
grandmother entered with a plate of snacks saying, “Girls, here I come with your
favorite snacks”
Seeing
Mili irritated with pimple problem, she advised “Many times I told you dear, to
make and apply neem paste on your face, to avoid such skin problems”. Sneha and
Mili picked up snacks as Granny continued “Neem is very beneficiary and keeps
skin flawless and radiant”.
“But Daadi,
I don’t like making neem paste there is so much hassle in that”, Mili hesitated
at the idea of making a paste.
Sneha
phone beeped endlessly with notifications of group message, and to her surprise
maximum members recommended Garnier Neem face wash as a solution.
Sneha
exclaimed with rejoice saying, “Daadi’s formula can be applied, without any
hassle, as Garnier product “Garnier Pure Active Neem face wash" has all the extracts of Neem
and fades pimple hitch".
“You have
wonderful product like Garnier which is ready to use with same benefits, this
generation has many advantages I must say”, and Granny smiled and patted Mili
to ease off her worry.
Then what
was to wait, two of them rode on magenta scooty to nearby shop to get the face
wash. And results were quite satisfactory and after few days, Sneha said again
“yes yes yes…. you are selected for lead role and I as narrator.
Both gave
hi-fi with a confidence that was flawless as Mili’s face now.
This post
is purely fictional and a part of Indiblogger Garnier activity where I strongly
believe that the beauty is not about attaining a higher skin-tone, but having a
flawless skin. Minor problems such as pimple shall not banish our dreams, let
us vanish them with our confidence in nature. As nature has remedies for all
problem, the need is to look around and identifying it. Neem tree is one of the
miraculous solutions to many skin troubles. So next time you are in trouble, look around solution maybe nearby.
