Down Memory Lane - Poem

Post has won the Silver Badge in BAT 49 by Blog - a - ton :)

Waking up with a golden dawn,
Running in those vibrant lawns,
Happiness and delight for unforeseen sight,
The cradle of life swayed with pride,
Things aren’t same; down memory lane.

For every small thing mattered the most,
Precious was my grandpa‘s coat,
Cheerful eyes cherished every little game,
Chuckles of laughter were only to tame.
Things aren’t same; down memory lane.

House was on complete disaster,
With the wake up of a little prankster,
A single gesture was enough to say,
Love and warmth was up to share.
Things aren’t same; down memory lane.

Down Memory Lane - Poem
Things aren't same, Down Memory lane

Loads of questions piled up in my mind,
Why the birdie can fly and why stars shine?
Riddles and jingles and stories of fun,
Were always there with the grand mum,
Things aren’t same; down memory lane.

Now I wonder why I grew,
There is no one to question and old stories too,
The deeds of my elders came with me along,
In this new journey to get (along)
Things aren’t same; down memory lane.

  1. It'd be difficult, but I think there would be someone to question, even if it won't feel the same.

  8. our memories always seem to have a little bit more shine than our reality...I think that is one of the small graces...that what was hard does not seem so much when it is behind us and as the years go on just get better....

  12. Your poem really takes the reader...down the memory lane seamlessly. I felt I somewhere in my house thinking about how things were 'then' how they are 'now' and how i felt then and now.
It is a moving poem beautifully woven!
