The Strength and Mystery of Women

Through the centuries, some of the greatest minds have tried to understand women. And we can admit that some admired them and some celebrated them. But one fact remains true over time: all were fascinated by them.

And honestly, don’t you think that fascination continues even today?

What is Women Strength

The strength of women has always been both visible and subtle. Women have been described through poetry, philosophy, admiration, and sometimes curiosity. Yet even the most brilliant thinkers have often struggled to capture the depth of their character. Perhaps that’s because women cannot be confined to a single definition. They embody resilience and empathy, ambition and patience, determination and grace. In many ways, the story of women’s empowerment is not just about their achievements in the journey, but about the quiet determination that keeps pushing boundaries forward.

Let me share a thought from Joseph Conrad that carries both wit and reflection: “Being a woman is a terribly difficult trade, since it consists principally in dealing with men.”

At first glance, it sounds humorous. But if we pause for a moment and ponder it, it reflects that for centuries women have navigated expectations, traditions, and societal structures that were not always designed to support them. One can count many examples instantly; yet despite these barriers, women have continued to evolve.

Is it possible that we have misunderstood what true strength looks like?

Often, strength is associated with dominance or authority. But the resilience of women has shown the world a different form of power—one rooted in empathy, emotional intelligence, and quiet perseverance. It may sound bold, but as said earlier, pause and think about it, and you may nod in agreement.

As Voltaire once remarked: “Women are never stronger than when they arm themselves with their weakness.”

Isn’t that an interesting perspective? What appears as vulnerability often transforms into resilience. Sensitivity becomes intuition. Compassion becomes leadership. These qualities, once underestimated, are now recognized as essential for strong societies and progressive leadership.

Perhaps this is why the words of William Golding feel both playful and profound: “Women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men; they are far superior.”

The point here is not competition but appreciation. Across the world today, women are redefining possibilities. From women’s leadership in business and politics to contributions in science, education, art, and community building, women are breaking barriers and creating pathways for future generations.

And yet, don’t you feel the journey is still unfolding?

While enormous progress has been made, there are still social, economic, and cultural barriers for women that need to be addressed. The future of gender equality and women empowerment lies not in rivalry, but in cooperation.

A balanced world thrives when different strengths complement each other. That is when respect replaces limitation and opportunity replaces bias. The real reflection here is not about men trying to understand women, or women proving their worth. Instead, it is about recognizing how powerful societies become when women are supported, respected, and encouraged to lead.

That is why International Women's Day holds such meaning. It is a moment to celebrate the strength, resilience, intelligence, and grace that women bring to the world every day. It is also a reminder that while many barriers have been broken, the journey toward equality and opportunity continues.

Happy International Women’s Day to the women who inspire progress and change in everyday life with their little choices.
