Mystery Book Review : A Silent Takeover by Sarvananda Chandrashekaraiah

Media can go deep with the facts and find the truth of a superstar, the book ‘A Silent Takeover’ by Sarvananda Chandrashekaraiah tells us how it can be done and with what dedication the media person actually struggles for the story. Let us look in detail at the book review of the book.

Book Cover: The book cover has the title written in capitals plus it is simple with a girl wandering in woods to find something and spots a creature flying. This gives us a hint of ghost and psychic angle in the story.

Book Title: The title ‘A Silent Takeover’ makes the reader think in two – three perspectives with respect to the plot. The takeover of status quo, the partner or life on whole. A Silent Takeover title stands so true and will make it a complete effect till the end of the book.

Effective Story Line:
A famous movie actor Raaj Kumar lashes out at the media on his 50th birthday and with repetitive questions on his single status make him agitated and leave his own birthday party. The disappointment is so huge that he takes a vacation break and settles himself in his town resort.

But the media is sure to follow a superstar wherever he goes. Suhasini of Muthodlur Blitz is assigned the job to take his interview after the incident. Suhasini who meets him in the resort with her contacts then plans to reveal the mystery of Raaj Kumar ex-girlfriends’ death and mental state. The road to mystery is filled with hiccups and the events turn out dark and murkier with time.

Will Mystery be Unraveled:

·      Suhasini, a young girl is on the verge of promotion with this interview task, will she show guts to dig into each of ex-girlfriend history?

·      On disclosing the secret will Suhasini be able to find her own love or does the faith in love vanish?

·      Can Raaj Kumar digest the truth of his ex-girlfriends and can he move forward in the film industry with it?

·      Will the Muthodlur Blitz risk their media place by uncovering the reality of the most loved superstar?

·      Can Vashishta, son of senior manager & Inspector Ramchandra help Suhasini to solve the mystery of the girl's death or will they leave Suhasini in this pool of doubts.

These all pointers will keep you hooked to the book till the last chapter.

Key points of the book:

·      Chapters are divided very skillfully and each chapter heading will keep the readers gripped.
·      Small length of the chapter made it easy to read and reconcile the story plus the twist at each end of chapter will make you get addicted to the next one.
·      Characterization is done in a clear manner, the shades of each are carried forward in a way that takes the plot in a constructive tone.
·      Mystery gets deeper with each passing chapter and by the middle of the book I thought I knew who the culprit was but I was stunned that I was completely wrong, and that kept me attached to the book.
·      Author has done a competently good job with the plot and has covered various angles in the plot.
·      The yogic plot, life of reporter, the police-officer role is all well described and merge with the story making the story shine above the characters.

Totally Silent Pointers:
The life of superstar and his reason for break ups should have been more emphasised to connect more with the characters.
