Open Letter to Friend who turned Stranger

How would you feel when one of your close friend turn in to stranger. We have expressed feelings on this subject in an open letter.

Friend Stranger Emotion - MeenalSonal

You were mine all along
With you I crossed many milestones
With you I always felt strong
Now no path to be shown.

You grew with me tiny tender to tough
My friend with you every vital step I took
But alas you don’t look the same stuff
Weathering with time changed your look

Why you can’t be rigid forever
Do you really need a pause or complete stay?
I can’t carry you in such state
Gear up dear together we need to fly away.

With respect I bid you goodbye
A friend to stranger you now sight
Oh! Dear Shoe you seem now a different guy
Alas you left me with time.

  2. I have been in that place, where I had to bid goodbye to a dear friendship, and someone I revered turned into a stranger. It is never easy. But sometimes we just have to let go.

    1. Rightly said Sherry, sometimes we have let go such friendship as we don't want bitter memories with that relationship.

  8. Not sure if the shoe is a metaphor for a human friend or vice-versa – what you say is apposite either way.

  10. I have a few friends who've turned strangers now. It's sad yes, but I'm over it now, took some time, of course. But, the funny part was when I discovered you're talking about your shoe. Until then I was imagining my friends, and suddenly had to imagine them as shoe. :P

  12. I relate to this poem completely. There is so much that one carries in the heart regarding a friend who is now a stranger...loved the humourous twist in the end but the soul of the message was loud and clear. Keep writing!

  14. Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world ! So I can feel the sentiment , shoes are as close to us as any good friend- protecting us from the harsh world , offering comfort and always helping me leap ahead !

  22. What a lovely imagination, I was in splits reading the end that this love is for shoes. Wah wah, I have to give it to you, the best poet who can create romantic lines for anything.

  23. At the initial lines I was so immotional and nostalgia by recalling few of my old friends but the end was surprisingly completely. I have a smile on my face .

  24. While growing up we all ideally let go of certain friendships. I really feel each one ends up teaching us some or the other life lesson. I really loved reading your poetry.

  27. Beautifully done. Shoes take us to new places, new people. Each taking us to new side.

  28. Loved the idea of shoe as having a life. Shoes take us all over but they d have a short lifespan. That is what change is all about. The new gives way to the old just like death itself.

  29. Beautifully written, reminded me of two things, my close friends who are not that close anymore and my favorite shoes which I still have with me but never wear them. Loved it!

  30. It happens many time, a good friend becomes a stranger. I am a person who are blessed with some crazy friends but the same thing happened with me also.

  31. oh you hit the nail indeed many of us have been through this where we had to bid adieu to our cherished friendships. But jo baat ho na sake usee ek haseen anjaam pe respectfully khatam karna is always a good thing.

  32. This is the strange part of life...those who seemed ours once feel so distant today. Bidding adieu is always a painful ordeal, having said which it teaches us how to treat adversity with grace and emerge as someone who is loving and forgiving.
