What Teacher's mean to me...

This post is dedicated to all my loving teachers who shaped me into a beautiful person.

I believe “Teachers are the lanterns who lit our life”. They hold a very special place in my life, as they have not only taught me subjects but also imbibed great values in me. Though there are plenty of tutorials available on numerous subjects, but the traditional way of teaching never fades away. I have even expressed importance of teachers in my earlier post Is Wisdom Becoming Dumb. Teachers are the role models for most of us, and they hold a great responsibility on their shoulders; as their each word and action is registered in mind and heart of every child.

Teachers gives us a direction

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan birthday September 5, is celebrated as teachers day in India as when he became second President of India, some of his students requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday. He replied, "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers' Day."
Happy Teachers Day  !!!

Everyone has unique position for teachers in heart, let me know why a particular teacher is your favorite.

  1. Exactly Meenal, in Hindi "Guru" equivalent of teacher is made of two root words "Gu" meaning "darkness" and "Ru" meaning "light." Literally, the word means who take us from darkness to light :)
